class activity 2

back in the water an hour was a surfer was attacked by a shark at Bronte Beach.

Simon letch was surfing just 40 metres off the beach at about 6.30 this morning when he spotted a 1.5 meter shark.

"i was just about to turn and sit on the board when the shark took a bite," Leitch said.

After taking another bite of the surfboard the shark lost interest and Mr Lietch caught a wave back to the beach.

The shark was a bronze colour and it's fin had a black stripe.

"You would think you would go to jelly after something like this happened but i was suprisingly calm."

The Sydney Morning Herald illustrater joined a group of 20 surfers back into water just one hour back into the water just one hour after the attack.
